The Christchurch City Council is the local government authority for Christchurch in New Zealand. It is a territorial authority elected to represent the c. 380,000 people of Christchurch. The authority provides services, news and events for residents, businesses and visitors to the city of Christchurch and Banks Peninsula.
Christchurch was founded in 1850 on the arrival of about 800 settlers from the United Kingdom, and became New Zealand’s first city, by Royal Charter, in 1856. Responsible local government began when the first meeting of the Christchurch Municipal Council, established under a provincial ordinance, was held on 3 March 1862.

Responsible for the establishment of the Asset Management Centre for Excellence / PMO and for mobilisation and delivery of the Advancing Asset Management Programme. The Programme provides a platform for project delivery across the five vertical units (Transport, Three Waters and Waste, Parks, Facilities and Asset Systems).
The Asset Management “Centre for Excellence” programme is a component of the Asset Management Unit. It is responsible for the coordination and establishment of best-practice programme management and for delivering business improvement functions which are aimed at increasing asset management maturity. This is achieved through the application of consistent standards (including ISO55000), focused staff development, information sharing and other support mechanisms to help grow awareness of asset management and to improve its practice across Council.

Responsible for the professional delivery of Council project and programme outcomes, with a particular focus on infrastructure and community facilities.
Developed frameworks and tools and led a team of project managers, conservation architects, business analysts, engineers to effectively manage the delivery of approx 65 post earthquake heritage repair projects.
Leading many cross-functional forums and collaboration meetings across the organisation and upwards to the Executive Leadership Team with an aim of breaking down silos and embedding business-led change.
Responsible for the development of a Continuous Improvement framework to gain visibility of the substantial activities underway across City Services which may draw on key resource and may have linkages or dependencies with other strategic activities.
Establishment of a robust prioritisation model based on strategic drivers to help guide investment decisions in relation to the potential value and risk.
For projects such as the Infrastructure Recovery Management Office, Heritage Reinstatement Programme & the Asset Management Improvement Programme.
Led the design and implementation team for construction of the Aranui Library facility, and other community facility refurbishments.
Contributed to a Council-wide approach to simplify and align the many project delivery frameworks that are in place across Council.
Established a collaborative multi-discipline forum for the review of upcoming projects. The Group reviews project documentation and provides recommendations to the Asset Management Governance Board (AMGB).
